This system is used for the optical transmission of IEEE1394/Firewire-signals and can transmit data rates of up to 400 Mbit/s (800 Mbit/s at 1394b). The transmitter system consists of two similar transceivers supplied by batteries and a duplex-62,5/125µm-multimode optical cable. Due to its insensitivity against strong electromagnetic fields the opto1394 is fit for tests of electromagnetic compatibility in EMC-test chambers, TEM-cells, and striplines. The system can also be used for the fail-proof transmission of signals across long distances.

optoLAN - 100 MBit per second

The optoLAN system can be used for the optical transmission of Ethernet (LAN-) signals with a data rate of up to 100Mbit/s (100BaseT). The two identical transceivers are supplied by internal batteries and connected with an optical fiber. With the optical transmission and the shielded case, the system is well equipped for EMI and EME tests. The device is not downward compatible to 10BaseT. If you need this option you can get the optoLAN-Gb. Due to its insensitivity to strong electromagnetic fields above the specified transmission range the system is fit for tests of electromagnetic compatibility in EMC-test chambers, TEM-cells, and striplines.

optoLAN - 1 GBit/s
This optical device is used for the bidirectional optical transmission of ethernet signals with a transmission rate of 1 GBit/s. It is downward compatible to 100BaseT and 10BaseT (automatically detected). The system consists of two identical transceivers supplied by batteries and a simplex-62,5/125µm-multimode optical cable. The ethernet connectors are custom-made. Due to its insensitivity to strong electromagnetic fields above the specified transmission range the system is fit for tests of electromagnetic compatibility in EMC-test chambers, TEM-cells, and striplines.

optoLAN-BCM89810
The optoLAN-BCM89810 system can be used for the optical transmission of automotive ethernet signals with Broadcom© BCM89810© chipset (unshielded twisted pair UTP ethernet). The two identical transceivers are supplied by internal batteries and connected with an optical fiber. The standard connector is Rosenberger HSD (Z-coded). With the optical transmission, the shielded case and the high quality connector, the system is well equipped for EMI and EME tests.

Optical transmitter for RS232 signals: optoRS232-HS The optoRS232-HS system can be used for the optical transmission of RS232 signals (hardware handshake) with transmission rates of up to 116 kbit/s. It consists of two identical battery supplied transceivers connected to each other with an optical fiber. With the optical transmission and the shielded case, the system is well equipped for EMI and EME tests.

The optoRS485 system can be used for the optical transmission of RS485-signals up to a data rate of 1 Mbit/s. It can be used to transmit RS485-signals over long distances or to handle ground potential problems. Optical transmitter for up to 16 digital signals: optoTTL The optoTTL is used for the optical transmission of digital signals. Up to 16 digital signals with a sampling rate of 40 MS/s (each channel) can be transmitted. The system consists of a transmitter supplied by batteries, a simplex-62,5/125µm-multimode optical cable, and a receiver – which has integrated batteries as well. Due to its insensitivity to strong electromagnetic fields above the specified transmission range the system is fit for tests of electromagnetic compatibility in EMC-test chambers, TEM-cells, and striplines.

A new type of connector is available now: The M12 connector (MMT471A315, counterpart MNF881A315-0001) by Metz Connect was integrated into our optical transmitter for Ethernet signals optoLAN, as well as optoLAN-Gb. Therefore, these devices are even fitter for tests of electromagnetic compatibility.
 
optoUSB2.0

The optoUSB-2.0 system can be used for the optical transmission of USB-signals up to a data rate of 480 Mbit/s according to USB2.0. It can be used to transmit USB-signals over long distances or to handle ground potential problems. With the optical transmission and the shielded case, the system is well equipped for EMI and EME tests.

Background
Both “USB” and “LAN” interfaces are consumer electronic interfaces, so they are not automotive grade.
This means, that the plug being used for LAN (RJ45) and USB (e.g. Type A or B) can not warrant an automotive level emissions or immunity.
mk messtechnik designed the optoUSB2.0-RBDIR, with an automotive grade Rosenberger HSD plug integrated and the optoLAN-GB with an M12 industry standard plug.
Both plugs the best shielding available for these high data rates. Still, the opposite side (DUT) has the standard plug integrated. What this means is that the emissions/immunity of the total link is dependent on the quality of the DUT connector and the mk-messtechnik devices add as low as possible to the test.
